Toilet Traing My Cat

So I decided to start toilet training my cat. My dog has been driving me nuts with taking the kitty litter out of the box and eating the cats poop – how gross is that. So I started looking into those automatic cleaning litter boxes. In the meantime, my cat decides to poop in the tub a couple of times instead of his litter box. (I guess there are worse places he could poop.) So while researching the automatic litter boxes I come across all this stuff on toilet training your cat. I thought since he drinks out of the toilet and poops in the tub – I bet I can get him to use the toilet.

I bought a kit called the kitty whiz on e-bay for $10. It’s basically a two piece plastic toilet seat cover. The top part is clear the bottom white with three perforated rings. You put the kitty litter in the middle of the toilet seat with some herbs and your cat uses it like litter box. Then you are supposed to take off a ring at a time until your cat is trained to go on the toilet.

The kit was delivered yesterday afternoon. I opened it this morning and sat it down on the table. Tigger immediately decide to curl up and sleep in it – it must be a good sign. I set it up in the bathroom. In less then 5 minutes he pees and poops in it. It seems to already be working how cool is that.

I would love to not have to deal with kitty litter any more. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
