Rain!

We have been having a crazy amount of rain. It's been thunder storming for over a week. The Chicago River runs through the Forest Preserves by our house. It is a flood Plain for the city (I think the only one - at least for the north side.) The river is about 15-20 feet higher then normal. The deer are up by our houses because they have no where to go (they do still have some forest that isn't under water to hide them)- they have been eating my hostas but I'm okay with that - poor things. More rain in the forecast today - I don't know how we are every going to be able to mow our lawn without breaking the lawn mower when the rain lets up - the grass is so high.
