Cicada LO

Journaling: n. : any of a family (Cicadidae) of homopterous insects which have a stout body, wide blunt head, and large transparent wings and the males of which produce a loud buzzing noise usually by stridulation Merriam-Webster It’s hard to believe that the next time the 17 year cicadas come around you will be 21 years old. We didn’t get any in our neighborhood so we had to go over to Grandma Subsits’ house to see them. Justin thought it was pretty cool – although I was the one that had to touch them. He freaked out when they landed on him. According to the University of Illinois, the The northern Illinois brood, which emerged in late May 2007, has a reputation for the largest emergence of cicadas known anywhere. June 5, 2007
